Tour description

Fishing in Lofoten varies greatly with the season. During the traditional Lofoten season from end of February to mid-April we catch skrei (Barents cod), and during summer we catch coastal cod, mackerel and haddock. Spring, summer and autumn we catch coastal cod, haddock, mackerel and coalfish. Once aboard we introduce you to the fishing tools and equipment featured on board. We will assist you while fishing and show you how to gut the fish on the deck. After the fishing trip you deliver your catch at the modern fish factory and you will learn more about the process from sea to table. In the evening your catch will be served as a part of a 3-course dinner with local ingredients!

The MS Symra is a traditional 39-foot fishing cutter with a long history back to 1917 and a truly authentic experience. She is certified for 38 passengers and protected by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage.

There are 10 fishing stations on board, so our guests must expect to share these between them on the trip. Maximum numbers onboard for fishing is 20 guests. But do not worry - we expect you will be very satisfied by the time we head back to port.
