From September to March, XXLofoten invites you to a Northern Lights experience that blends Arctic magic with powerful encounters from the past. This is an evening where you don’t simply chase the aurora—you gain insight into why it has fascinated people in Lofoten for more than a thousand years.

The tour begins in Svolvær and takes you into one of Norway’s most dramatic winter landscapes. Along this rugged coastline, nature’s forces are as present today as they were for generations of coastal communities. With the Northern Lights as the guiding thread of the evening, we journey through striking scenery and meaningful locations that add depth and character to the experience.

A highlight of the tour is an atmospheric stop at the longhouse at the Lofotr Viking Museum—a powerful introduction to Viking Age Lofoten. Stepping inside, you are immersed in an ambiance that brings history closer, awakening the senses without revealing everything that lies ahead.

As we continue along the coast, your guide shares captivating stories about life in Lofoten—about people who lived in close relationship with the sea and the elements, and about the role the Northern Lights played in their understanding of the world.
