Tour description

Welcome on board our authentic fishing boat. Our professional crew will provide the best guidance on our 3 hour fishing trip from Svolvær. Fishing in Lofoten varies greatly with the season, and during the traditional Lofotfisket, from end of February to mid-April, we catch skrei. Our winter fishing includes sea fishing with line wheel, and we offer coffee on board our authentic fishing cutter. Fisheries have been the central feature of Lofoten’s history, and have in many ways contributed to building our country.

MS Symra is a traditional fishing cutter, and she turns 100 years old in 2017. She is protected by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage. Symra is a comfortable boat originally built specifically for fishing in Lofoten, and she is certified for 38 passengers and has 10 fishing stations. Every year we arrange fishing trips both for eager fishermen and groups where you find both those who would like to try, and those who are experienced. Our recommendation for group is max 25 persons if the main highlight is fishing.

The rate is based on charter per hour. We recommend 3-4 hours trips.

The trip includes sea fishing with a line wheel, and we serve coffee on board along with stories from Lofoten. We always try to serve a taste of the fresh catch on flatbread with sour cream as an extra service to our guests.

The weather at sea in Lofoten can change rapidly, which is some of the charm of these isles. Fishermen have over hundreds of years learned what is suitable clothing at sea, and we recommend the same for our guests, unless the temperature is above 20 degrees Celcius. Remember to bring warm boots and gloves – and also your camera.
