Evening snowshoe hike
Stargazing, hiking, and campfire coffee – all on snowshoes
Tour description
Experience the magic of Lofoten with an Evening Snowshoe Hike, no matter the weather! As darkness falls over the Arctic landscape, Lofoten transforms into a serene and mysterious world, just waiting to be explored. This tour takes you on a short 15-minute drive from Svolvær before we strap on our snowshoes and turn on our headlamps. The hike is short and easy, about 2-3 km with multiple stops to take in the dramatic surroundings.
Lofoten is famous for its ever-changing weather, and it’s this unpredictability that makes the experience unique. We don’t cancel due to a little rain – in fact, the weather is part of the magic. You’ll feel the elements as you trek through snow-covered landscapes, sheltered by a traditional Norwegian “gapahuk” where we pause to make coffee over a fire. Here, the guide shares captivating stories about the area’s history and culture.
If we’re lucky, the skies will clear for some breathtaking stargazing, and there’s even a chance to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights dancing above. This is Lofoten at its rawest – unpredictable, wild, and unforgettable.
We include snowshoes or crampons depending on the snow conditions as well as headlamps and poles.
